H. Stanley Jones

H. Stanley Jones, 90, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021. Stanley was born May 5, 1930 in Wake County to the late Willie Spencer Jones and Miriam Larue Watkins Jones. He graduated from Knightdale High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Stanley began his career with Westinghouse, where he graduated in the first four-year Tool and Die Apprentice Training Course. The N.C. Labor Commission recognized him as the first model maker graduate in the state of North Carolina. He retired from Cooper Tools, Lufkin Plant, as Senior Product Design Engineer. Stanley was a member of Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 70 years, Frances Phillips Jones; son, Kevin Jones and wife Vickie; daughter-in-law, Beverly Jones; grandchildren: Nathaniel Jones and wife Beth, Andrew Jones, Victoria Jones Radford and husband Josh; Hannah Jones; and great-grandchildren: Aubrey Radford and Hayden Radford.            

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his son, Herman Stanley “Stan” Jones, Jr. and his siblings: Charles, Laverne, and Patty Jones.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 21, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. Face masks and social distancing will be required for those attending.
