Frances (Pope) Patterson

On July 29, heaven gained an angel. Frances Pope Patterson was a loving wife, mother, and teacher.  Daughter of Charles Ray and Betty Lou Pope, she was a Johnston County girl through and through.

She loved her church and serving as deacon and Sunday School teacher to her "ladies".  She exemplified being a servant.  She loved visiting church members and sharing baked goods.  Sending greeting cards to the sick and shut-in gave her great joy.

Frances taught children in the Virginia and North Carolina Public School Systems for over 30 years.  After retiring from teaching, she served as Assistant Sergeant of Arms with the NC Senate.

Frances loved the beach, a good book, flip flops, working in the yard, and all things NC State. Most of all, she loved her family.

She is survived by husband of 42 years Kevin, son Will (Cameron), sisters Libby (Jackie) and Myra (Richard), nieces Cathi, Anna Grace, and nephew Thad.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 pm, Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 8400 Poole Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
