Donnie Wayne Mitchell

Donnie Wayne Mitchell, 70, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 24, 2021. He was born on September 27, 1950 in Wake County to the late Charles Benjamin Mitchell, Sr. and Virginia Bunn Mitchell. He is also preceded in death by his older brother, Charles Benjamin Mitchell, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa B. Mitchell; sons: Jordan Mitchell (Megan), Nolan Mitchell; brother, Frank Waddell Mitchell (Jane); sisters: Helen M. Denton (JR), Phyllis M. Alford (Jim); sister-in-law, Joanne D. Mitchell; and brothers-in-law: Larry Braswell (Billie), Eddie Braswell. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Graham, Corabeth, and Evelyn Mitchell, and Ashton Mitchell.

Donnie was a graduate of Wakelon High School. He retired from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Donnie was a devoted Carolina Tarheel sports fan. He will always be remembered for his love of life, singing karaoke, riding horses and driving classic cars.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Beulah Christian Baptist Church, 8225 Mitchell Mill Road, Zebulon, NC 27597. The family will greet visitors following the service.                 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beulah Christian Baptist Church in Donnie’s memory.
