Obituary

Bernadette Zofrea (70) of Knightdale, NC, passed away unexpectedly in her home on September 12, 2019. She was born and raised in Paterson, NJ. She raised her family in Wayne, NJ and lived for a short time in Florida prior to finally settling in North Carolina in 2014. She was a member of Saint Eugene Catholic Church in Wendell, NC. Bernadette loved spending time with her grandchildren, was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. She was a caregiver by nature and spent many years working in the childcare field. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary and was always thinking of others. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Frank and Ellen Veronese; her father and mother-in-law, Dominic and Muriel Zofrea; and her beloved nephews, Kenneth Marino and Frank Veronese III.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of more than 50 years, Donald Salvatore Zofrea; her children, Donald Michael Zofrea of Haskell, NJ and Mark and Janice Zofrea of Knightdale, NC; eight cherished grandchildren, Zachary Zofrea, Brandon Zofrea, Devin Zofrea, Shane Zofrea, Kaden Zofrea, Alicia Rueda, Adyson Zofrea and Jace Zofrea; and her loving sisters and brothers, Dona Marino of New Port Richey, FL, Frank Veronese of Hudson, FL, Catherine and Robert Kravcenko of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Ellen and Michael Biondo of Charlotte, NC; and nieces and nephews, Michele Farrell, Cathy Rodgers, Stacey Struble, John Marino, Cassandra Alpert, and Bob Kravcenko.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of family.

Bernadette will be remembered at 5 o'clock Mass service at Saint Eugene Catholic Church in Wendell, NC on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
