Thomas “Tommy” Winfred Bogey, 77, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016. He was born October 23, 1939 in Pitt County to the late Winfred Bogey and Essie Garris Bogey. He honorably served his country in the US Army from 1959 to 1962.  Tommy retired from the Belk Department Store at Crabtree as a Manager of the Men’s Dept. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for over 30 years. Tommy was a devoted husband and father, he loved to fish and never knew a stranger. 

Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church, 4301 Louisburg Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park with Military Honors.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 pm at the church.

Surviving: wife of 53 years, Carolyn Manning Bogey; son, Michael Bogey and daughter, Cynthia Bogey both of Raleigh; sisters-in-law: Barbara Dellano (Art) of Winterville, Deloris Davis of Raleigh; brothers-in-law: Tom Manning (Beth) of TX, Glenn Manning (Vicky) of Belvoir, Lawrence Manning (Patsy) of Ayden, Bill Manning (Jackie) of Greenville, Ricky Manning of Greenville; numerous nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Memory of Thomas Winfred Bogey.
