Shirley Watkins Johnson, 81, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017. She was born December 25, 1935 in Wake County to the late Troy D. Watkins and Bertha Watkins Watkins. Shirley retired from Winn Dixie as a data processor. 

Public viewing will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm for anyone wishing to pay their respects. 

Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon, 27597. 

Surviving: sister, Alice W. Brantley of Knightdale; brother, Wayne Watkins (Trudy) of Zebulon;  nephew, Neil Brantley; niece, Emily Watkins Bunn.   

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Johnson on March 29, 2017. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Research, 3739 National Drive, Raleigh, NC 27612.
