Sharon Louise Clara Bauernfeind Whitaker, 78, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. She was born March 17, 1939 in Faribault, MN to the late Elmer Bauernfeind and Bernice Hetletvedt Bauernfeind. She graduated from Faribault High School, MN and Minnesota School of Laboratory Technique. She retired from Burroughs Wellcome as a Lab Technician.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545.  

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Surviving: daughters: Traci Whitaker George (Jerry) of Zebulon, Aimee Louise Whitaker of Raleigh; grandchildren: Brittany Nicole George, Krystal Lynn George, Ashleigh Louise Whitaker; father of children, William D. Whitaker of Zebulon; siblings: Luverne Bauernfeind (Sharon) of Rochester, MN, Delbert Bauernfeind (Deborah) of Kasota, MN, Wayne Bauernfeind (Donna) of Faribault, MN, Sandra Cruikshank (Jerry) of Faribault, MN, Barbara Radtke (Arthur) of Highlands Ranch, CO.
