Ruth Godwin Kellum, 92, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017. She was born July 19, 1924 in Onslow County to the late William James Godwin and Callie Estelle Frazier Godwin. Ruth worked as a sales clerk at Hudson Belk. 

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545.   

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. 

Graveside 4:00 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Onslow Memorial Park, 3280 Richlands Highway, Jacksonville, 28540. 

Surviving: Son, William Edward “Bill” Kellum, Jr. (Virginia) of Knightdale; daughter, Virginia K. Becton (Fred) of Richmond, VA; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters.   

In addition to her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward “Ed” Kellum, Sr. on October 16, 1992.
