Robert Roy Mandrell, Sr., 88, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was born March 21, 1929 in Jefferson County, IL to the late Ernest Arch Mandrell and Mary Edna Miller Mandrell. Robert honorably served his country in the US Marine Corp as a First Lieutenant during the Korean conflict. After his discharge from the service he worked as an Industrial Psychologist with Chrysler Corporation and retired with over 30 years of service.

Funeral service 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Knightdale Baptist Church, 15 Main St, Knightdale, 27545. Burial Raleigh Memorial Park with Military Honors.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545.

Surviving: children: Teresa M. Johnson of Knightdale, Denise M. Pitts of Winter Haven, FL, Amy M. Morris (Don) of Raleigh, Robert R. Mandrell, Jr. (Jani) of Tulsa, OK, Carol M. Clark (Grant) of Fairdealing, MD, Carla M. Myatt (Larry) of Four Oaks; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Mullins Mandrell.
