Robert Charles Dobbins, 85, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017. He was born January 30, 1932 in New Cumberland, WV to the late Charles Albert Dobbins and Evelyn Longsworth Dobbins. Robert honorably served his country in the US Air Force. He worked as an insurance executive with Metropolitan Life Company. 

A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am, Monday, May 15, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service. 

Surviving: sons: Charles “Charlie” Dobbins (Lisa) of Raleigh, Robert Dobbins of Mariette, GA, James Dobbins (Judy) of Winston-Salem; 7 grandchildren; sister, Mildred D. Conlin of West Hartford, CT.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bryant University, 1150 Douglas Pike, Box 40, Smithfield, RI 02917.
