Randy Kent Norris Jr., 26 passed away Saturday June 18, 2016 in a tragic car accident. He was born November 25, 1989 in WakeMed Hospital, Raleigh, NC. A loving father and companion, son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend to many. Randy was known by all for his God-given athletic abilities - specifically when it came to the game of Football. From a young age Randy's football career began with the Knightdale Knights. From there he played in middle school for East Wake Warriors and in high school the Knightdale Knights. This career would continue to grow with him as he played for various teams in different states and most recently as a part of the semi-pro football team the Raleigh Raptors.

 Although Randy had a remarkable athletic career, it was his strength, loyalty, and heart for others that are the defining qualities in the true legacy he leaves behind. He will always be remembered for his ability to capture a room with his smile, how his presence instilled confidence in others, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved.

 Randy’s life was faced with many challenges, some he overcame and others he struggled with day-in and day-out. He didn't pretend to be prefect, and because of that Randy was greatly loved by all. He was never anyone other than himself. He would often say, “it is what it is”. Some looked at this saying as a way of giving up or settling. To him this meant more. It meant not worrying how or why things are the way they are, it meant that the only thing that matters moving forward, is how to overcome. That’s who he was to many, someone who overcame. Although Randy Kent Norris Jr. will be missed, he will remain an inspiration to his family, friends, and many more.

 The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday June 22, 2016 from 5:00 -7:00 pm at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.

 A service will be held 3:00 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel with his grandfather Charles Kenneth Lowery "Pawpaw" officiating.  

 A service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel located at Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road, Charlotte, NC 28226 at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2016. The burial will follow on the church grounds at Magnolia Memorial Gardens. 

Randy leaves behind two beautiful children. His son Randy Kent Norris lll, mother Tamara Lee and his daughter Kaiulani Josette Norris, mother Jorden Cauley his loving girlfriend and her two sons Camdyn and Jayln. His mother Allison Turner and Stepfather Maurice Turner, father Randy Kent Norris, Sr. and wife Pam Norris. Brothers Joshua and Devante, sisters Sequoya, Elizabeth and Katherine, grandparents Ken and Carol Lowery, Sylvia Norris, Truman and Cora Wilson and numerous family and friends. Randy's grandfather Defore Norris has preceded him death.
