Peter Howard Edwards, 78, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He was born January 20, 1939 in Nash County to the late Spencer Levi Edwards and Helen Turner Edwards. Peter was a self-employed Draftsman/Building Contractor.

A service to celebrate his life will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Zebulon Baptist Church, 400 N Arendell Ave, Zebulon, 27597 with Reverend Jack Glasgow officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the church parlor.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Edwards Family Farm, Green Road, Spring Hope.

Surviving: wife, Karen Jones Edwards; sons: Perry Edwards (Elaina) of Raleigh, Paul Edwards of Raleigh; step-children: Laura Harris (Norman) of Selma, Jim Griffin (Lisa) of Bahama;   grandchildren: Carolyn, Spencer, Henry, Morgan, Zachary, Jason; siblings: Cecil Edwards, Mildred Williams, Minnie Jones, Allen Edwards, Jerry Edwards and Nelson Edwards.

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Edwards and siblings: Haywood, Spencer, Joe Wayne, Rachel Hall, Dixie Southerland and Lillie Belle Griffin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zebulon Baptist Church, Faith Challenge Fund.
