Peggy Boughman Whitley, 80, of 261 S. Selma Road passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 10, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends.  She was born in Johnston County, on January 10, 1937 to the late Charlie Vincent Boughman and Lois Hocutt Boughman.  Peggy graduated from Corinth Holders High School in 1955 where she served as the class salutatorian. Peggy retired from the Federal Government, ASCS Office with 23 years of service. She was a passionate Home Interiors Representative, she gave parties far and wide. Peggy loved her husband John, and supported him in his stringed music gatherings.  She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service: 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545.  Burial: Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 16657 Buffaloe Road, Wendell, NC 27591.

The family will receive relatives and friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, 27545, and other times at the home.

Surviving: daughter, Tammy W. Price of Knightdale; Vince Whitley (Linda) of Wendell; grandchildren, Brian Keith Davis (Nicole), Susie Davis Concelmo (Casey), Jonathan Vincent Whitley (Heidi), Jason Scott Whitley and Bobby John Patton; great granddaughter Cassidy Lynn Davis; great grandson, Anthony Dessus; brother, Charlie Boughman, Jr., of Knightdale; sisters, Brenda F. Boughman of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Betty B. Thornton of Zebulon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Henry Whitley, January 26, 2013; sisters, Virginia B. Bunn, Joyce B. Rizzuti; and brother, James R. Boughman.
