Mary Frances (Ellis) Ellington

Mary Frances Ellis Ellington, age 96, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 7, 2018. Mary was born in Franklin County on April 2, 1921 to the late James and Caro Ann Woodlief Ellis.  

Mary was a beautiful hard working Christian woman who loved her home, family friends and cat “Betsy”. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, heart and personality.

Mary “Frances” was employed as a waitress at the Angus Barn for 27 years. As long as her health permitted, she was faithful member of Midway Baptist Church for 44 years. 

The family is so appreciative for the love and support shown by special friends and neighbors Michelle DeLaire, Betty Faulkner and Laura Walker; her caregiver, Tammie Reid and daily visits by Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed her weekly visits by Pastor Bob Johnson and visits from her Sunday School Class members of Midway Baptist Church. 

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 11, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, 27545. Burial Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 2960 Tarboro Rd, Youngsville, 27596.  

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:45 pm at the funeral home. 

Surviving several special nieces, nephews and many special friends, neighbors and co-workers. 

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Carlton Ellington and brothers: Sam, Buck and Tom Ellis and Lucious and Glenn Evans.
