Margaret Jordan P. Merritt, 89, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016.  She was born on September 10, 1926 in Wake County to the late Dallie Horton Jordan and Helen May Hood Jordan. She retired as a secretary with the North Carolina National Guard.  She loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who cared and loved her.

Surviving: daughters, Marsha P. Soyars of Raleigh, Amy P. Davenport of Raleigh, Donna Poole (Danny) of Raleigh, Dawn Merritt of Glenmoore, PA; grandchildren, Paige Beverly, Don Griffin II, Lauren Davenport,  Daniel Poole, Davis Poole, Deena Poole; great grandchildren, Ava Davenport, Trip Griffin, Aubree Davenport-Hinton, Lillie Neblett, Devin Griffin, Jacob Benham.

The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Dee Merritt in 2009, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and Alzheimer’s Association of NC.
