Lucille (Snyder) Shipe

June 6, 1922 ~ July 12, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Lucille Snyder Shipe, 95 years young, formerly of Oneonta, N.Y. and Swansboro, N.C., died July 12, 2017 at the Capital Nursing & Rehab, Raleigh, N.C. after suffering a stroke.

Mrs. Shipe was a member of Pilot Baptist Church, Zebulon, N.C. She served the Lord faithfully for many decades while living in Oneonta, N.Y. and Swansboro, N.C. as a prayer warrior and encourager in church ministries, visiting local nursing homes, and Bible Studies. Wherever she found herself, she continued to serve the Lord in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She will be remembered as a woman who loved the Lord, and was on mission for Him until her death setting a wonderful example of what a life in Christ should look like. II Tim 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”, with her favorite Bible verse being, John 10:27, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Born in Carbondale, P.A., June 6, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Pierce and Corinne Weeks Snyder. Her husband, Robert L. Shipe, died in 1998, Swansboro, N.C. Her brother Louis D. Snyder, formerly of Endicott, N.Y. died in 1993, Florida.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Shipe Mullin of Louisburg, N.C.; and a son, David L. Shipe of Syracuse, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was lovingly referred to as, GG.

A Celebration Service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Cape Carteret Baptist Church, Cape Carteret, N.C. with the Rev. Kevin Clubb officiating. A private graveside service will at Seaside Memorial Park in Swansboro.
