Linda Sue (Blackley) Perry

September 14, 1947 ~ July 15, 2017 (age 69) 69 Years Old

After fighting a courageous 3 year battle with Peritoneal Cancer, Heaven gained another Angel. Linda Sue Blackley Perry, age 69, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Sue is survived by sons and daughters-in-laws: Tim and Pat Perry, Tommy and Angel Perry; grandsons: Stephen and Jordan Perry; mother and step-dad, Lila and Charles Creech; brother and wife Steve and Georgia Blackley; special uncle, Lindberg Ray; cousin, Larry Ray; numerous special God grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Larry Anderson.

She is preceded in death by husband, Donnie Perry; father, Willis Blackley; sister, Joan Parrish; aunt, Betty Lou Ray; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Blackley.

Sue was very active in her younger years in school activities such as; volunteer work at school, grade-mother and cub scouts for 7 years. At her church, she was heavily involved with Vacation Bible School, the Youth Department and Baptist Young Women director for many years. She was also a member of the adult choir until stepping down due to cancer.

She inherited her gift of gab from her grandpa. She loved people and making new friends. Her main love was her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and remembered for her smile and incredible kindness to others.

Funeral service will be Sunday, July 23rd at 3:00 pm at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Rd., Zebulon, 27597. Burial Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.                                                          

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 22nd at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. All other times at the residence of Tim and Pat Perry, 4728 Hopkins Chapel Rd., Zebulon, 27597.               

Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church.
