Linda B. West, 78, of 9147 Old Lewis School Road, Middlesex, NC passed away peacefully at the home on Friday, August 25, 2017 after an extended period of declining health. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on July 25, 1939 to the late Walker Wells Bolt and Helen Gertrude Fink Bolt. Linda graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke, Virginia. After her retirement and a period of declining health, she relocated from Salem, Virginia to Middlesex, NC to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Byron Poelman. She faithfully attended Heritage Baptist Church in Zebulon, NC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be truly missed.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 6:00 pm, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Heritage Baptist Church, 615 Mack Todd Road, Zebulon, NC 27597.  The family will visit prior to the service from 5:00-6:00 pm at the church.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, 305 Roanoke Boulevard, Salem, Virginia 24153.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Sherwood Memorial Park, 1320 E. Main Street, Salem, VA.

Linda is survived by her daughters: Sharon Poelman (Byron) of Middlesex, NC and Wendy Coleman (Michael) of Fincastle, VA; grandchildren: Isaac Poelman (Nicole) of Zebulon, NC, Mariah P. Hendricks (Eric) of Zebulon, NC, Tarah Poelman of Middlesex, NC, Eden Poelman of Middlesex, NC, Dylan Coleman (Helen) of Aurora, CO, and Baylee Coleman of Fincastle, VA; great-grandchild, Titus Hendricks; and a brother, Dennis Bolt (Carol) of Midlothian, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward “Chuck” West in 1996; and her brothers: Jimmy Bolt and Phillip Bolt.

The family would like to thank Linda’s caregivers: Ellen Hursey, Diane Bailey, Mary Lynn Bryla, and Kristi Price as well as the staff of Community Homecare and Hospice for all their love and care.
