Linda Faye (Wall) Hall

October 21, 1944 ~ April 7, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race and I have remained faithful. 2 Timothy 4:7

Linda W. Hall, 72, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on April 7, 2017. She was born in Wake County on October 21, 1944 to the late Aaron Rolin “Tink” Wall, Sr. and Pauline Jones Wall. Her formative Christian upbringing on her parent’s farm had a positive influence in her life. She had many fond memories of growing up in the Knightdale Community during a simpler time. Linda graduated from Knightdale High School in 1963 and then went on to receive a two year business degree from Hardbarger’s Business College. She worked with Raleigh Police Department (Detective Division) for two years before joining the US Department of Agriculture (Farmers Home Administration/Farm Service Agency) and retired in 2005 after 33 years of service. She joined Bethlehem Baptist Church on April 10, 1955 when she was 11 years old and after retirement volunteered there until her health would no longer permit. Linda was a devoted mother to her children, especially her son, the late John Sumler Hall, III better known as “Lil John”.

Linda valued her family and friends and she loved spending time with them. When she was with you, you knew immediately how important you were to her. Her family, friends, and others knew she trusted God and she believed you should have a good work ethic, always do your best, be a friend to others, and always share your blessings. She loved working in the yard and watching her flowers grow and bloom.

Everyone who knew Linda realized quickly that she was an avid Duke University Basketball fan. In fact, she loved all sports and nothing gave her more pleasure than watching her granddaughter, Macie, play volleyball, basketball, and soccer along with attending dance recitals and sharing family traditions.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 8400 Poole Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home.

Linda is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Amy H. Gross, son-in-law, Dr. Scott K. Gross and granddaughter, Macie Elizabeth Gross, who was the sunshine of her life. They never missed an opportunity to make memories together. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Betty P. Wall; niece, Debra W. Poole (Scott); nephews: Steve (Jayne) and Dale Wall and their families; and her special lifelong friends: Rose and Lawrence Matthews.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving parents, her son, and brothers: Charles T. Wall and Aaron R. Wall, Jr.

Our family extends special thanks to Dr. Christopher Ingram, Dr. William Heizer and their staffs and son-in-law, Dr. Scott Gross who always remained faithful and compassionate throughout her care.

Memorial contributions in Linda’s memory may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
