Laura Ann Bierce Stephenson, 50, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Transitions LifeCare. She was born February 13, 1966 in Wake County to Sally Davis Bierce and the late Louis Maurice Bierce, Jr. She graduated from East Wake High School in 1984. Laura received a two year degree from Peace College and graduated from Meredith College in 1988. She worked at NC State University with 20 years of service. She was a devoted member of Mid-Way Baptist Church. Laura was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service in the church sanctuary from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm.                    

A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Mid-Way Baptist Church, 6910 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.

Graveside service 1:00 pm, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.

Surviving: husband, Kyle Stephenson; daughter, Ashley Stephenson; mother, Sally D. Bierce; sister, Jennifer O’Donnell (Patrick) of Clayton; niece, Taylor O’Donnell.

In addition to her father, Laura was preceded in death by her twin sister, Dr. Jeannie Grey Bierce.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Way Baptist Church or Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to all her dedicated family, friends, doctors, and nurses who demonstrated God’s love throughout her battle with cancer. Laura was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all. However, we rejoice in knowing Laura is completely healed and celebrating her new life in heaven with her heavenly father.
