Larry Clayton Craven, 67, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at Wake Med. He was born July 29, 1950 in Wake County to Sarah Rebecca McLeod Craven and the late Clayton Robert Craven. Larry honorably served his country in the US Navy on the USS Mount Baker. He retired from the NC Dept. of Agriculture. After retirement he worked with BFI and Waste Industries. Larry was a beloved husband and father, but his greatest joy was being “PaPa” to his 5 grandchildren.

Surviving: wife, Carolyn Waters Craven; daughters: Brooke Craven and husband, Ryan Hargreaves of Wendell, Sara Craven and husband, Brandon Peebles of Zebulon; grandchildren: Olivia, Brooklyn, Clayton, Autumn, Harper and Baby Aliza on the way; mother, Becky Craven of Clayton; sister, Teressa Underhill and husband Archie of Wake Forest; brother, Bob Craven of Angier.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545.

Funeral service 11:00 am, Friday, August 4, 2017 at Baptist Tabernacle Church, 1599 NC-231, Wendell, 27591.

Graveside service 4:00 pm, Friday, August 4, 2017 at Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor, NC with Military Honors.
