Kenneth “Kenny” Douglas Goad, 63, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017. Kenny was born December 22, 1953 in Wake County to the late Douglas Gray Goad and Mable Honeycutt Weaver.Kenny worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Town of Wendell. 

Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service. 

Surviving: wife, Brenda Faye Champion Goad; daughter, Jeanne Rebecca Goad Cortes of Wendell; grandchildren: Joshua Paulson (Donna), Dillon Goad-Cortes, Savanah Goad-Cortes, Charlie Goad-Cortes, Lyndsey Grace Bettis; great-granddaughter, Kaci Blaire Paulson; brothers: Ricky Goad (Kay) of Wendell, Terry Goad; sisters: Faye G. Atkins of Raleigh, Carolyn Weatherspoon (Mike) of Wendell; sister-in-law, Glenda Luther (Henry) of Apex. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Duke Cancer Center, 710 W. Main Street, Ste. 200, Durham, NC 27701. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas LaBlanc and his assistant Donna Adams as well as the staff of Duke University Hospital, 9th floor, 9100 block, for the special care and attention they gave to Kenny.
