Jean Bailey Braswell Morgan, 83, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Transitions LifeCare.

Jean was born June 28, 1933 to the late Sidney Ernest Bailey and Mary Harris Bailey. She was employed with Occidental Life Insurance Company for 41 years. Jean was a dedicated mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She provided a wonderful home for her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed. 

Jean was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest Clay Braswell and second husband Richard O. Morgan; sisters: Ilene Bailey, Beulah Cooley, Christine Keith, Ruth Kennedy; brothers: Reece, Norris, Raymond and Ormond Bailey.          

Surviving: sons: Steve Braswell (Shannon) of Raleigh, Todd Braswell (Rhonda) of Greensboro; daughter, Sharon Braswell Bovalina (Vito) of Imperial, PA; grandchildren: Shane Braswell, Steven Braswell (Jona), Brandon and Jacob Braswell, Anthony, Chad, Clay, Luke Bovalina; great-grandchildren: Emilee, Makenzie, Nichole Braswell; step-children: Alton Morgan (Wendy), Phyllis Hamby (Tony); step-grandchildren: James and Sylvia Hamby and many nieces and nephews and close friends. 

Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2100 Noble Road, Raleigh, 27608 with Reverend Steve Tillis officiating. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:45 pm at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.
