Hazel “Sue” Elizabeth Joyner Harris, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1936 in Nash County to the late Clifton Joyner and Fannie Pridgen Joyner. Sue worked for many years at Durham Life, then at First Union Bank where she made many, many friends. Sue loved working in her yard, planting all kinds of flowers. She loved going to her daughter’s ball games and cheering on the Eagles. Her two grandsons were the apple of her eye. 

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. Burial Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive relatives and friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, February 24, 2017 at the funeral home and other times at the home. 

Surviving: husband, Earl Harris; daughter, Marsha Harris West (Wade Troutman, Jr.) of Kenly; grandchildren: Hunter and Harrison West; sisters: Frances Massey of Raleigh, Julia Duke of Elm City.   

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by brother, Homer “Ted” Joyner; grandson, Alexander West.
