Gregg Steven Hogan

Gregg Steven Hogan, 68, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017. He was born January 3, 1949 in Beloit, Wisconsin to the late Selmer Perry Hogan and Lillian Finley Hogan Patterson. After high school he joined the US Navy, where he perfected his engineering skills. He was self-employed as an engineer, diagnosing and repairing the headbox section of paper machines all over the country. Gregg loved his wife Wanda and his family dearly, his passing will leave a void forever in their lives.

A service to celebrate his life will be held 6:00 pm, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545 with Reverend David Haley officiating.      

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 to 5:45 pm, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Kelley and Clennell Byrd, 310 Switchback Street, Knightdale, 27545.

Surviving: wife, Wanda Jackson Brown Hogan; children: Brad Steven Hogan of Albuquerque, NM; Kelley Brown Byrd (Clennell) of Knightdale, Leslie Brown (Kelly Barbour) of Raleigh, Chrissy Stewart (Alex) of S. Beloit, IL; grandchildren: Tyler (Maegan), Alexus, Khloe, Zane; brothers: Mike Melcher (Laurie) of Janesville, WI, Lee “Scotty” Scott (Sherry) of S. Beloit, IL; sister, Patricia Drea (Jack) of WI; sister-in-law, Patsy Jackson Langley (Tom) of Garner; wonderful nieces and nephews that nicknamed Gregg, “Uncle Turkey” and “Uncle Ugly” and a host of special close and wonderful friends. 

In addition to his parents, Gregg was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Kaye Seljie.
