Gertrude Liles Bordeaux

Gertrude Liles Bordeaux, 95, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 after months of declining health. She was born July 13, 1922 in Wake County to the late Samuel Aaron Liles and Annie Roberts Liles. Gertrude graduated from Hugh Morson High School and married the late Hugh Lane Bordeaux. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a caregiver to many. As long as her health permitted she was very active with her time and expertise at Samaria Baptist Church. Gertrude was a gifted gardener and an avid bird lover.   

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 19, 2018 at Samaria Baptist Church, 3621 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 pm on Monday at the church.

Surviving: daughter, Vickie Bordeaux Poor and husband Robert of Raleigh; granddaughters: Heather Massey Parkman (James) and Krista Michelle Massey; great-grandchildren: Gianna Elyse Parkman and Camden Hayes Parkman; sister, Lucy L. Moore of Clayton; her beloved nephew, Rick Bordeaux and wife Cindy; as well as a host of special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gertrude was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Lane Bordeaux; sisters: Lola Patrick and Rebecca Purdue; brothers: Russell Liles and Charles Liles.
