Edna Greene Spain, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 29, 2017.  She was born October 21, 1935 in Nash County to the late Ernest Gordon Greene and Clela Ray May Greene.  Edna retired from NC State University as a cashier with the dining service. 

Funeral service will be held 4:00 pm, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Central Baptist Church, 11109 Poole Road, Wendell, NC 27591. Burial to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2:30 to 3:45 pm.

Surviving: daughters, Shirley Dukes of Newport News Va, Patsy Fulford of Rocky Mt, Barbara Whitman of Nashville, Linda Hales of Louisburg; sons, Robby Spain of Goldsboro, Wally Spain Jr., of Clayton, Garry Spain of N. Myrtle Beach, Barry Spain of Clayton; step sons, Shelton Spain of Bailey, Allen Spain of Greensboro, step daughter Cindy Reams of Zebulon, 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Greene of Lake Gaston; sister, Joyce Morris of Fuquay Varina. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Wally Miller Spain, and Drury Fisher Spain.  Her brother, Russell Greene, and her grandson Jacob Lynn Spain
