Earleen Virginia Humphreys Procter, 82, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017. She was born September 5, 1935 in Waynesboro, VA to the late Earl Wood Humphreys and Hannah Marie Johansen Humphreys. Earleen attended Jefferson Business School in Virginia where she met and married Jarvis Procter in 1955 before moving to Raleigh.

 Earleen was a beloved mother and grandmother and was always eager to help others and put their needs first. She volunteered with Highland United Methodist Church, YWCA, Junior League of Raleigh, United Way, Interact, Urban Ministries, NC Wildlife Federation, Glen Eden Park Planning Committee, Girl Scout Troop Leader, as well as other various civic and community organizations. For several years, she also worked as a Realtor with Howard Perry & Walston Better Homes and Gardens.              

The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, November 10, 2017 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm   at Highland United Methodist Church, 1901 Ridge Rd, Raleigh, 27607.

Graveside service 1:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Ave., Raleigh, 27601.       

Surviving: daughters: Lucy Procter Ringland (Tom) of Raleigh, Becky Procter Livingston (Boyd) of Columbia, MD; grandchildren: Haley Marie Livingston, Janna Skylar Livingston; son-in-law, Johnny Barham of Wendell; sisters-in-law: Marriott Procter Little, Doris Procter Bason both of Raleigh; niece, Debbie Flynn of Wake Forest; many other nieces, nephews and multiple extended family members.

In addition to her parents Earleen was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Jarvis Procter; daughter, Beth Barham; grandson, Jeremy Procter Barham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.

A memorial celebration is scheduled for 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 14th at Capital Oaks retirement community, 6498 Ray Road in Raleigh, where Earleen made her home for the last several years. Friends are welcome to come share memories of her over punch and cookies, and enjoy a game of bingo.
