Douglas Johnson, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was born September 30, 1932 in Nash County to the late Dewey Robert Johnson and Ada Griffin Johnson. He honorably served his country in the US Army. He retired as a supervisor with Ward Transformer of Raleigh. 

Graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Ave, Zebulon, 27597 with Military Honors. 

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home 112 Satterwhite Drive, Knightdale, 27545. 

Public viewing will be Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545, for anyone wishing to pay their respects. 

Surviving: wife, Shirley Watkins Johnson; sisters: Geraldine Alford of Pearl River, LA, Carol Lewis of Middlesex; numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by brothers: Verlon Johnson, Earl Johnson; sisters: Dover Tant, Pauline Tant.
