Doris Smith Ferrell, 84, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017. She was born October 13, 1932 in Wake County to the late Edwin Smith and Ruby Lovelace Smith-Huggins. She worked for 35 years with the Flu Cured Tobacco Stabilization Corporation.   

Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. Entombment at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.   

Surviving: son, Kent Ferrell of Raleigh; daughters: Sherrie Ferrell of Wake Forest, Lisa F. Neuman of Raleigh; grandchildren: Landin Neuman, Emerson Neuman, Hallie Ferrell.   

In addition to her parents Doris was preceded in death by husband, James Dent Ferrell. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 5510 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, 27609.
