Clyde Alton Broadwell, 81, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016. Born in Wake County on January 4, 1935 the son of Joe Obie Broadwell and Kittie Ruby Wall Broadwell and step-mother, Ruby Kathleen Davis Broadwell. Clyde graduated from Knightdale High School in 1954 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He retired with 30 years of service from the United States Postal Service. After retirement he enjoyed fishing, the beach, Nascar, his vegetable garden and spending time outdoors. Clyde was a devoted husband, father and friend to his many nieces, nephews and extended family.    

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 8400 Poole Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 am in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Bobbie Nell Perry Broadwell; daughter, Bobbie Lynn Broadwell; sister, Betty Ruth B. Clark (Warren); sisters-in-law: Bonnie Broadwell and Barbara Broadwell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Mary Esther Haigh; and brothers: Worth, Graham, James, Henry, John, and Reuben Broadwell.
