Billy Wayne Hocutt, 67, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017. He was born August 26, 1949 in Johnston County, to the late James Colonel Hocutt and Ella Mae Strickland Hocutt.  Wayne retired from Asplundh/Pike in 1998 as an electrical contractor.                

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Monday, June 26, 2017 at Baptist Tabernacle Church, 1599 NC 231, Wendell, 27591. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, June 25, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home.

Surviving: wife, Clara Whitley Hocutt; son, Kelvin Hocutt (Tammy) of Selma; daughter, Kelly Godwin (Jonathan) of Zebulon; grandchildren, Katelyn Elizabeth Hocutt, Toby Dwayne Hocutt, William Scott Hocutt, Ryan Austin Godwin; great grandchildren, Layla McKenzie Hilliard, Hunter Scott Hilliard, Dayton Connor Lee; brothers, Gene Hocutt of Moyock, Dan Hocutt of Clayton, Roger Hocutt of Four Oaks; sisters, Peggy Crocker of Severn, Betty Jo Crocker of Kenly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Archer Lodge Fire Department, 6483 Covered Bridge Rd, Clayton, NC 27527.
